Terms of Use

Last updated: 19 July 2026

These terms govern your use of the Nigerian Students Union in Egypt (NSUE) platform. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them. The platform is run by the Nigerian Students Union in Egypt (NSUE) for the benefit of its community.

1. Who may join

Membership is open to Nigerian students studying in Egypt, alumni, Nigerian lecturers and Nigerian embassy officials.

You must provide accurate registration details and genuine verification documents. Providing false information, or using another person’s documents or passport, is grounds for immediate removal.

Each person may hold one account. Your passport number uniquely identifies you and cannot be used for a second account.

2. Verification and your ID card

Full access (posting, the directory, the marketplace and your digital ID) requires successful verification by an association officer.

A verification and ID-card fee may apply, as set by the association. Fees are for administrative processing and are generally non-refundable once verification has been completed.

Your digital ID card remains the property of the association, may carry an expiry date, and may be revoked if your membership ends or these terms are breached. Do not alter, forge or share your ID card.

3. Account security

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.

You must verify a WhatsApp number to submit verification documents; it is also used to reset your password. Keep it up to date.

Notify the executives immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Acceptable use

Treat other members with respect. Do not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes others’ rights.

Do not post spam, scams, or misleading commercial offers. Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.

Do not attempt to access other members’ documents or accounts, probe or attack the platform’s security, or scrape member data.

Do not use the platform to distribute malware or to collect members’ information for purposes outside the community.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You grant the platform permission to display and distribute your content within the service so it can function.

You are responsible for what you post and must have the right to share it. We may remove content that breaches these terms.

6. Marketplace and events

Listings and events are created by members. The association is not a party to any transaction and does not guarantee items, services, prices or attendance.

Deal cautiously: meet in public places, verify goods before paying, and never send money to strangers in advance. You transact at your own risk.

7. Advertising

The feed may show sponsored content, clearly labelled. Advertisements do not imply endorsement by the association. Your dealings with advertisers are solely between you and them.

8. Moderation and enforcement

Administrators may remove content, and suspend or ban accounts, that breach these terms. Different admin roles handle verification, content moderation and events.

Serious or repeated breaches, fraud, or threats to members’ safety may result in permanent removal and, where appropriate, referral to the authorities or the embassy.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The platform is provided “as is” for the benefit of the community. While we work hard to keep it secure and available, we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law, the association and its volunteers are not liable for losses arising from member transactions, user content, or service interruptions.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Questions about these terms can be directed to the association executives through the platform.
